9. Rotating Tzedakah Box

Who does it:
Temple Shalom in Chicago, IL
What they do:
By rotating where donations are directed, one's contribution to the tzedakah box can serve a variety of efforts.
Time commitment:
1-2 hours per month for the project's managers.
Who they do it for and why:
A central Tzedakah box is made available for congregants as they enter or leave each Shabbat service, and/or families can be given boxes to fill up at home and turn in once a month.
We would need:
¨ One or more persons willing to assume leadership of the project and manage it.
¨ Tasks would include determining the organization that would receive each month's donations, publicizing the good works done by that organization to foster both immediate and ongoing financial support by congregants, then organizing the process of collecting and forwarding the funds each month.
