Temple Israel is a charter member of Mazon, a Jewish Response to Hunger. Mazon’s goal is to ease the pain of hunger for millions in our country and in the world. Temple members are asked to donate 3% of the cost of all food-related events to Mazon, and to make Yom Kippur and Passover contributions. Mazon gifts have included substantial grants to the Community Action Project of Tulsa County and to the Tulsa Community Food Bank. We ask that congregants keep Mazon in mind when they have a simcha. Contributions are always welcome. Envelopes are available in the Temple lobby or office. During the 2012 summer, some of our Greene Family camp participants had the opportunity to learn with Laura Mizes, Mazon’s Youth and Outreach Coordinator. We hope that these campers will share what they have learned about Mazon with us.
